Generative AI technologies have garnered much media space recently, especially after the launch of Chat GPT. This advanced technology not only took the web by storm impressing users with its high-quality generative responses but also created a race within the tech companies rushing to launch their own generative AI tools. As soon as Microsoft announced the acquisition, Google and Baidu announced their own tools, implying the huge impact these tools can have on how users adopt them.
Generative AI tools have the potential to revolutionise the Ad creative process, right from generating ideas, to writing content and generating visual images, the elements which are fundamental to any marketer's playbook. If not the final output, it will definitely give markets a headstart to idea generating process after which human intelligence and creative minds can take over.
I am excited about the vast opportunities these tools will open doors to and optimistic about how they will continue to advance, improve, and democratise most of the content creation work, making it more accessible and inclusive for a wider range of individuals and businesses.
Content creation will become handier for non-native English-speaking business owners with tight marketing budgets. Drafting consistent and relevant content is one of the significant challenges for marketers. Translation adds on more workload and hence impacts the development of content. AI generative tools will offload a significant chunk of this bit, or at the very least will assist in developing run-of-the-mill content for them, who are usually pressed for time and resources. From writing social media posts to generating samples of write-up blocks of text on a website or emails are a few examples where generative AI can become a helpful tool.
As an example I entered the following prompt and Chat GPT came up with the following results:
I am thrown aback by the results and it took me less than 2 minutes to generate 5 variations of the content pieces! You can imagine how the power of language processing tools will have an impact on marketers
In the same vein, storytelling through video format will also get a boost as these AI tools become more widely used. Marketers and brands can generate video concepts in-house, before outsourcing the production to agencies, leading to significant cost savings in their marketing budget.
While the result may not be as accurate as you may have imagined, it gives ideas to start brainstorming further with the team.
If you are working on a creative concept and don't have an in-house designer or an agency to build the initial concept, Image generation AIs tools can come in handy. It can help you get started on various creative concepts, forming a base for creative brainstorming. Automating repetitive tasks such as resizing, recoloring, and creative variations can save time and effort.
Here's an example from Shutterstock's text-to-image AI tool and this is what I got.
And this is just the beginning. What's more, AI can greatly boost the creator economy by helping to produce high-quality content in a short amount of time. With AI-enabled advertising tools, they can better understand their audience, and their consumption habits and can tailor their content to better meet the needs and preferences of their audience.
